Park of King Tomislav
The park is located near Tvrđa. It was created in the 18th century for the purposes of moving the Lower and Upper Town because of the reach of cannons. The park consists of three parts: the Upper quarter of the Upper Town from the Health centre to the Park of King Držislav, the Park of King Tomislav which borders the European Avenue. The park is rich in shrubby plants and trees: hard cornel, ginkgo, oak, maple and many other plant species. Besides the plant species, in the park there are also memory plaques and monuments. One of the most important monuments is the “Dying Soldier” from 1898 which was designed by Robert Frangeš Mihanović and which was built in memory of the soldiers killed during the Austro – Prussian War. The fans of Transformers can find them in this exact park.
