Perast Museum (Perast-Montenegro)
The Perast Museum was established in 1937, and founded in oreder to preserve a museum collection from Perast citizens during the second half of the 19th and early 20th century. The collection consists of portraits of famous sailors from Perast, weapons, archive data from World War II, archives of elementary school in Perast, the Visković family library, and other exponents from the history of Perast. The museum was initially located in a muncipality building on the square near the Church of St Nicholas. Nowadays, it is located in the Bujović Palace, which was renovated in 1957 for this purpose. Bujović Palace is one of the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture of the 17th century. The palace suffered major damage in the earthquake in 1979 and was later rebuilt.
