Phra Pathom Chedi (Bangkok-Thailand)
Phra Pathommachedi or Phra Path Chedi is with its 120.5 meters of height the tallest stupa around the world. It is about 60 km away from the center of Bangkok and it is one of the most famous attractions in the area. You can reach it by the famous Death Railway from Kanchanaburi. Namely, You need to get to Nakhon Path station from where You can already see the stupa. The origin of the stupa is quite unknown, but it is assumed to be older than 2,000 years. The temple is surrounded by a gallery that has several halls and a smaller version of the stupa, and the statues of the Buddha are placed along the gallery and the entrance. Every year, there is a festival that is a real spectacle – it features mermaids, siam twins and various games.

You have to exit at Nakhonpathom Station, GPS: 13.824294, 100.059471 (13°49’27.5″N, 100°03’34.1″E.) The station is around 600 m from the temple.
