The Roman Temple is considered to be the largest temple in the Istria, and it is known also as the Great Temple. The temple is dedicated to the Capitoline Triad, i.e. to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva and is located in the northwest along the Marafor Square. The remains are very few; parts of pillars, capitals and of pediment indicating the stunning structure of the ancient building. The Temple was built in the 1st century, and between it and the market there was a large stone staircase. It is believed that this was a temple raised on a high base containing four columns at the rear and six columns on the front part. In the park on the west side there is the Temple of Neptune, also built in the 1st century, and dedicated to Neptune, the god of sea. Only small parts of the wall and the ground have been preserved in this temple.
