Sanctuary St. Anna
The sanctuary of St. Anna
The sanctuary of St. Anna is situated in Bistrinci next to the Chapel of St. Anna. The local craftsmen built the chapel in 1797 as a column with a rectangular opening enclosed by an iron grille. The chapel is believed to have been built in honour of the image of St. Anna which came from the Drava. This important monument was financed by the countess Anna illustrissima Prandau Pejačević. The chapel was built in 1995, and two years later the facade was enriched with drawings depicting the life of St. Anna. A cross was built in the front of the sanctuary. The feast of St. Anna is celebrated on July 26th when the sanctuary is visited by the faithful. Various miracles have been attributed to it.
