St. Agnes’ Church
In the area where used to be a cemetery and a small church with a bell tower, the Parish church of St. Agnes was built in 1893. It was consecrated in 1894 by the bishop John the Baptist Flapp. This church on the Istrian peninsula is most famous for its two towers, and the reason for that is that in Istria all churches had only one bell tower. It is located on a hill and is easily visible from a distance as well as from the sea. In the church you can see a beautiful marble baptistery, made by Ante Orlić, the statues of the Virgin Mary of the Rosary, St. James, St. Peter, St. Agnes and Theresa. Because it is one of the most interesting churches in Istria, it is definitely worth visiting.
