St. Martin’s Church and Bell Tower
The construction of the parish church of St. Martin in Vrsar lasted for a long time. The foundations of the church were laid in 1804 during the French occupation, but it was completed only in 1935 during the parish priest Josip Martinoli. After the completion of the church, the bishop of Poreč, Trifun Pederzolli consecrated the church in March of 1935. It is located along the walls of the Vrsar Castle. Next to the church a bell tower was built, which, together with the parish house, makes up a harmonious architectural whole. The church interior is of a three-nave shape and is decorated with motifs from nature, while the pillars bear the carving of the patrons’ names. On the arches one can see the religious paintings made in 1946 by Antonio Macchi from Rovinj.
