St. Pelagius’ Big Square
The Novigrad square was named after St. Pelagius who is the patron saint of the city. The square is most famous for the bell tower on the Church of St. Pelagius, which is entirely built of stone blocks and contains a clock and three narrow windows on each side. At the top of the bell tower stands the statue of St. Pelagius. Every year, the celebration of the patron saint is held in Novigrad. It is accompanied with various folk games, stands with a wide offer and interesting activities intended for the younger ones. On the last day of the celebrations a concert of some of the Croatian stars is organized. Stars who have performed there in recent years are Goran Karan, Giulliano, the band Parni valjak and many others.
