Museum of Bishop Strossmayer
The Memorial Museum of Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer was established on 4 May 1991, following the decision of bishop Ćiril Kos from 1986. The Museum’s document collection, photocopies, books, paintings and sculptures keep the memory of the life and work of Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer. The permanent exhibition begins with Strossmayer’s baptismal certificate and ends with his portrait painted by Oton Iveković. The Memorial Museum should be the focus of further study of Strossmayer’s life and the place of keeping the most important items of his legacy.
