The City Square
The City Square
The City Square is a large open space surrounded by beautiful palaces, buildings and monuments. On the one hand, there are Venetian-style buildings, and on the other, there are buildings belonging to the Trieste Austrian architectural style. The tower with a clock dominates the city square. At the middle of the square is a large fountain of “the boy with the fish”, a favorite gathering place for tourists and pigeons. On Marshal Tito Square, in a beautiful baroque building from the end of the 17th century, once owned by the Califfi family, the Regional Museum of Rovinj is placed. On the city square, concerts and other performances are often held. From a small pier during the summer, boats are transporting many tourists on two most beautiful and biggest islands near Rovinj – St. Catherine and St. Andrew.
