This interesting historical sarcophagus is located in the historic center of the city, the Park of Novigrad Diocese, next to the Romanesque Church of St. Pelagius and St. Maximus. The sarcophagus is made of stone and most likely originates from the early Christian period. The sarcophagus is characterized by its simplicity; there are no special decorations except for its interesting and unusual shape. The lid of the sarcophagus has the shape of the roof with gutters and contains acroteria adorning the top and the ends of the sarcophagus.
