Tikveš castle
The Tikveš castle abounds with parks and forests surrounding the Old Castle, New Castle with its annex, the chapel of the Pope’s blessing and the restaurant. It was built by the Teschen line of the Habsburg family, and the castle complex dates from the 19th century. It was built for the needs of the imperial hunting grounds and today it is a well-known hunting resort. Tikveš was visited by numerous rulers, as well as other important people like the biologist Brehm. Later it became the residence of Josip Broz Tito. Today, it is possible to find accommodation in the castle, as well as use the multimedia hall. There is a reception centre with the souvenir shop and exhibition.
