Triklinij
Triklinij (Triclinium)
Triklinij (Triclinium) is an interesting octagonal hall, which is located in the eastern part of the basement of Diocletian’s Palace. It is believed that, in the past, it was the imperial dining room, and around it, there were small rooms where the service was, most likely. The remains of the triclinium were found in the 20th century, and during the restoration of this part of the basement, the ground floor of the triclinium was renovated, and today you can see the marble table there. Historians believe that it was a very high place, which was topped with a dome, like a vestibule and the mausoleum.
