Veliki Tabor
Veliki Tabor Castle
One of the best preserved and most significant medieval fortified towns is Veliki Tabor, famous for its monumental and authentic fortification architecture. It offers a beautiful view of the Croatian Zagorje. The oldest part of the city dates back to the mid-15th century. The central and oldest part of the town is made up of the pentagonal palace, surrounded by semi-circular Renaissance towers. The town center is surrounded by a defensive wall with bastions, entrance tower and two semicircular watchtowers. The Veliki Tabor Castle allows you to get acquainted with its history, legends, and architecture through various workshop, professional and thematic leaderships. In the museum workshops, children can learn to shoot a bow and arrow or build their own castle.
