Wat Ban Tham
Wat Ban Tham (Dragon Head Cave Temple (Kanchanaburi-Thailand)
Ban Tham Temple is located 13 kilometers south of the Bridge on the River Kwai. Visitors will first have to climb up long stairs and then pass an entrance that resembles a dragon head leading to the cave itself. Inside the head, there are murals showing scenes from Thai classical novels: especially the one where a man called Khun Paen murders a pregnant woman, in order to make her baby his spiritual helper. Once You enter the cave, You can go up the hill to receive a blessing from a monk sitting in a shrine or proceed to the top in order to see the surrounding rice fields. Note that You should take off Your shoes once You enter the temple.
