Wat Pho Temple (Bangkok-Thailand)

Wat Pho is one of Bangkok’s 3 most popular temples and a place You have to visit. It is one of the oldest and largest temple complexes in the city and is best known for its 46 meter Budda plated with gold. Although it is often known for lying or sleeping Buddha, this posture actually shows the transition of the Buddha to Nirvana after death. There are more than 1,000 Buddhas in the temple, more than in any other temple in Thailand. Most of these representations were brought from the abandoned temples of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, by the orders of King Rama I. Additionally, You can really experience true Thai massage, but also learn the art of massaging at school inside the temple Wat Pho. You can also visit on one day the three most popular nearby tourist attractions in Bangkok. So, first visit the Royal Palace and then take a few minute walk to the Wat Pho. 2. Wat Pho, 13.746429, 100.491362 (13°44’47.1″N, 100°29’28.9″E)
The easiest way to get there is by a boat over the river Chao Phraya. Exit at the ”Tha Tien” station and You have to walk for another 150 m from there.
3. Grand Palace, entrance gates located at 13.751667, 100.493240 (13°45’06.0″N, 100°29’35.7″E). The Grand Palace is located 800 m from Wat Pho.

Wat Pho is located 5,4 km from the center of the city and Sky Train’s station ‘‘Siam“ (Siam Paragon Shopping Center), and around 2,5 km from the most popular tourist street, Khao San Road. The closest SkyTrain station is ”National Stadium“, which is 5 km away. The closest underground station is ”Hua Lamphong”, around 3 km away.

The easiest way to get there is by a boat over the river Chao Phraya. Exit at the ”Tha Tien” station from where You have to walk for 150 m.
