Wat Phra Nang Sang (Phuket-Thailand)
This 500 year old temple is the oldest temple in Phuket. It is located around 20 kilometers from Phuket Town, on the way to the international airport. The temple houses many artefacts, a mummified monk, three little Buddha statues which were found inside a bigger one, and statues of the women also depicted on the Heroines monument. In 1789, before the battle of Thalang, people gathered in this temple to prepare for battle. The battle against the Burmese was won by two brave women who are depicted both here and at the Heoines monument. Wat Phra Nang Sang is a beautiful place worth visiting both because of its cultural and religious importance.
