Wat Phra Pud
Wat Phra Pud (Phuket-Thailand)
Located near the Thalang District, Wat Phra Pud is believed to be one of the first temples in Phuket. It is famous for housing a half buried golden Buddha statue. An interesting legend is tied to the statue, namely everyone trying to dig it out were cursed. Because nobody could dig the statue out, the temple was built around it. The temple itself is not very big, but it is certainly beautiful because of the many Buddha statues and colorful illustrations and ornaments. This place is popular with tourists not only because of its beauty and the legend surrounding it, but also because of a small museum on the site of the temple. The museum houses various objects donated to the temple over the years. Wat Phra Pud is a beautiful place with interesting history, which makes it a pleasant visit.
