Županijska Street leads to the main, Ante Starčević Square. The buildings in this street were built in the Venetian – Moorish style and classical style. The County government palace from 1842 bears classicist features, while the Croatian National Theatre from 1866 has Venetian – Moorish elements. In this street you can also see the memorial plaque of the former Jewish synagogue which was demolished in the World War II. In Županijska Street there is also a loose cannon ball that was accidentally fired from Tvrđa in the 19th century.
