Archaeological site Danilo
Located around 15 kilometres from Šibenik, the archaeological site Danilo is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Croatia. As evidenced by the remains found on the site, the Danilo area has been inhabited since the Neolithic, 7000 years ago. Also, there are remains from the Roman and Illyrian times, as well as kitchen utensils such as plates, bowls, pots and the like. The most famous item found there is certainly the rhyton – a large decorated vessel that was used for carrying during various rituals. The Danilo culture is distinctive for it.
