Baška is located on the largest Croatian island of Krk, as evidenced by the remains found in the caves, Baška has been inhabited since the prehistoric times by the members of the Illyrian tribe Japodes. The oldest monument of the Croatian people written in the Glagolitic alphabet, the Baška Tablet, was found right here.
