Fonticus with loggia
In 1557, the Venetian Fonticus with Loggia was built on a limestone floor with four pillars and it is a construction that was able to retain its original appearance. Four tombstones of Roman origin can also be found there. Since Grožnjan had its own Statute, this building was the seat of the court. Although Grožnjan got its own statute in 1358, it was first mentioned in 1558 in notarial documents in Italian, and was then divided into four books. In the interior of this building you can find the Fonticus gallery housing the works of both domestic and foreign artists.
