Maritime and History Museum (Rijeka)
In 1892, the building of the Governor’s Palace began. Today this place represents the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral, which was founded in 1961. This museum contains an ethnographic, archaeological, cultural-historical and maritime departments. The Maritime and History Museum with its complex material research from prehistory to the new era, scientific and technical methods and processes, presents the role and the development of all social beings in the area of Primorsko-Goranska County. The Maritime and History Museum of Rijeka, with its interdisciplinary approach offers seeing, understanding and exploring the nature of space and people, memory and myth, and reveals identity thus establishing a link between the past and the present times.
