This is a city famous for its valuable architectural cultural and historical heritage of the preserved Romanesque architecture and beautiful, Venetian Gothic palaces. The orthogonal urban system founded in the Roman period has been preserved in the old part to this date. It bloomed in the Byzantine during the reign of Emperor Justinian. Among the most beautiful works of the Byzantine style the Euphrasian Basilica is included, built in the 6th century. Its entire complex is included in the world heritage list of UNESCO. There are many cultural and historical monuments of other historical periods, such as the Romanesque houses from the Middle Ages with wooden balconies, gothic pentagonal tower or the former city gate. The Poreč beaches are awarded with blue flags and well-equipped with restaurants and other facilities, especially the sports infrastructure. Thanks to this, the city has become a destination for professional and recreational athletes from Europe. In the hinterland of Poreč, one can find the delightful, picturesque Istrian villages.

One of the most famous sights in Poreč is certainly the Euphrasian basilica, which was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
