Trstenik info (Pelješac peninsula)
Trstenik, one of the oldest settlements on Pelješac, is located on the half of the southern part of the peninsula. Numerous bays, clean sea and beaches, and the pines surrounding them, all located at the foot of steep hills makes this region particularly attractive. Besides the olive groves, the landscape is dominated by vineyards with grapevines from which famous Pelješac wines are produced. The Trstenik harbour was constructed due to the needs of wine export. The old part of the village was built in the hinterland due to the risk of pirate attacks. In the 19th century began the development of settlements along the coast. The habitats of mouflon and wild boar are located north of the village in the hilly areas, so the tourists can have fun fishing, spear fishing and hunting.
