Government House (Cetinje-Montenegro)
The Government House, the monumental building of the Montenegrin Parliament, was built in August 1910 at the time of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Montenegro. The building is the masterpiece of the Italian architect Corradini, and was made in neo-baroque style. At the construction time, it was the largest object made of reinforced concrete in Montenegro. On the facade are the figures of a man (Day) and a woman (Night) modeled on Michelangelo’s tomb in Florence. You can also see the figures of goddesses Flora and Minerva. Numerous state institutions, such as post offices, telegraphs, prints, theaters, were situated in the Government House. It today houses the National Museum of Montenegro.
